Founder / Managing Director

Sam is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with over 18 years of experience leading startups to successful exits, including ventures in social networking and botanical beverages. He possesses deep expertise in cross-border strategy, corporate governance, and complex capital raising for funds and SPV asset disposals. Prior to founding Global Rising in 2019, Sam was a founding member of Plant for Peace in Afghanistan. There, he collaborated with global investors and military leadership to develop innovative food security and peace programs centered on international FMCG supply chains.

Frederick Mcgaw

Partner - Abu Dhabi

Frederick is an experienced international advisor and investment facilitator for the Abu Dhabi Royal Family and their private offices, focusing on capital raising and business development across the UAE, Oman, and Qatar. His career includes significant achievements in international infrastructure, notably brokering a $5.0 billion renewable energy and housing project in Ghana with UNOPS. With a professional background spanning J. Stern & Co., the UK Government, and iEurope Capital, Frederick also serves on the Lucy Cavendish College Foundation Board at Cambridge University.

Over 25 years of experience in investment banking & asset management in GCC region, UK and Asia.

Currently Executive Director at ASAS Corporate Advisory, a multi-family office in Dubai focused on M&A, corporate advisory, capital raise and pre-IPO and IPO transactions. Previously Board Advisor to Falcon Capital LLP, a London based IPO & PE Investment Advisory firm.

BSc (First Class) Economics, MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and Executive MBA from  Bayes Business School (London).

Ivan specializes in building resilient strategic infrastructure and cross-border systems within complex global markets. With two decades of experience across the Middle East, Africa, and Eurasia, he integrates trade, finance, and execution to navigate volatile geopolitical environments.

Rather than following traditional frameworks, he develops adaptable parallel structures focused on the foundational pillars of food and energy security. His philosophy prioritizes disciplined execution and the creation of enduring networks that provide long-term stability and control over outcomes.

David Cazlett

Co-Founder / Investor

David holds an MA in Modern Languages from the University of Edinburgh and Santiago de Chile. With 30 years of international business experience, his career began in the late 1980s with the Jan Hus Foundation. In the early 90s, he founded Information Risk Management, a cybersecurity pioneer serving global law enforcement until its 2017 sale to Capgemini. Also an accomplished composer, David produced the award-shortlisted Requiem for Aleppo. Currently, he leads in behavioral analytics and the spatial web as the co-founder of Element Human and Sphere Research (Cozmos.com).
